Into Kurupt FM’s world
People Just Do Nothing follows the Kurupt FM crew, a pirate radio station broadcasting garage and drum and bass from Brentford, West London. I was in the early BBC run, before it grew from a cult mockumentary into one of the defining British sitcoms of the 2010s.
The pleasure of a show like this is that the comedy feels completely lived in. Everyone in the Kurupt FM world is taking themselves incredibly seriously, which is exactly why it works. The core cast includes Allan Mustafa, Hugo Chegwin, Asim Chaudhry, Steve Stamp, Daniel Sylvester Woolford, Lily Brazier and Ruth Bratt.
Angel’s Birthday
In Angel’s Birthday, Grindah tries to organise a fifth-birthday party for Angel, while Beats attempts to keep Roche happy by going for a job interview at Tie One, a local tie shop.
You may see my part listed in a couple of ways online: some profiles list Chris, while British Comedy Guide lists Store Worker (Tie One Branch Manager). Either way, I’m there for Beats’ very serious attempt to enter the world of retail ties.
